What an affiliate link means

If you follow an affiliate link to a retailer and buy something, the retailer may pay Landing Pad Asia a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be without the link. Not every link on the site is an affiliate link: links to a maker’s own store, or to a source we cite, may be plain links.

Which programmes we use

Where Landing Pad Asia uses affiliate links, they are provided through the Involve Asia affiliate network, which covers Southeast Asian retailers including Lazada and Shopee. At present no link on the site is an affiliate link: every buy link goes to the maker’s own store or to a retailer we have no arrangement with, and earns nothing. Affiliate links may be used in future, and we will keep this page accurate as that changes.

It does not change what we recommend

An affiliate relationship never decides what appears on the site or what is recommended. Placement is not for sale, and no retailer pays to be featured. Prices, availability and recommendations are reached the same way whether or not a link earns a commission. For how those are put together, see how we rank.

How to spot an affiliate link

When affiliate links are used they will carry the rel=“sponsored” attribute, which is machine-readable but not visible on the page, so the safest assumption is that any outbound link to a retailer may be one. If you would rather not use it, you can always go to the retailer directly.
